The first contract awarded was a beach nourishment contract in 1997 at Sandwich Bay in Kent. Since this time we have continued to carry out numerous similar contracts in many other parts of the UK and Europe. Various rocks structures have been constructed, including revetments, groins, reefs and breakwaters ranging from 3,000 to 300,000 tonnes. Many beach renourishment schemes have been completed involving millions of cubic metres of fill.
We have invested heavily in specialist plant for these type of works, low ground pressure bulldozers, dump trucks, wheel loaders, excavators and rock grapples. All of our machines run on biodegradable oils to safeguard the fragile environment in which we work.
The entire fleet consists of up to date equipment, which along with strict maintenance schedules, our own engineers on 24 hour callout, extensive workshop facilities and parts stock, ensure that the machines are available 24 hours per day 7 days a week, as is often required on projects of this nature.
